Car shows on TV

Bill, I haven't seen that show on Velocity but will look for it.

The first Top Gear episode, the India trade show thing, was disappointing. It was atypical; slapstick buffoonery, with those guys acting like the 3 Stooges. Lacked all the wit that usually makes their shows so much fun to watch.

I like Texas Car Wars and Fast N' Loud both on Discovery Channel. BOth deal with restorations and they do pretty cool work.

I kind of like those too. They get hokey at times, but are better than pretty much anything on Speed.

After watching Fast n loud and Texas car warriors, I'll be very careful on my next used car. I would touch those cars with a 10 foot pole. Get a junk car, get it running throw a quick paint job on it, the rest is up to you. Fast n loud bought a worn out 32 ford for $28k, did some general body work to get it ready for auction. Nice paint, nothing special. Lost their butt on it; for good reason.

Fast and Loud looks like snake oil salesman. But I havent seen Wayne Carini do a perfect job either. Both kings of the rattle cans.

I met Wayne Carini of "Chasing Classic Cars" two weeks ago in Las Vegas.
