In reply to a post by Simon Austin I like the clean look better than the splitter version. Maybe a view of a painted splitter with the opening might blend it together.

The bumper doesn't do anything for it.

Nice work, Tony.

Thanks Simon! I'm gonna get out in the shop in the next few days and paint up a splitter to see what it looks like on there. I left the splitter off my car because I like the more "clean" look also.

Tony, Another idea! There is a need for the rounded corner pieces under the tailights for those doing a chrome bumper conversion(or bumperless). Would work for MGB and Midget. Also seems to be intrest in 72-73 round wheel rear fender piece for Midgets.

I like it Tony. Put me in for one without the splitter. Do you have lights that fit or what do we need to get. Thanks, Steve

Hey Jim, do you have any pics of the round wheel fender piece for the Migdet? Also, is the round corner in the pic below what you're referring to?

Hey Steve, I bought my lights at the local Pep Boys. They are 3 1/2" and cost around $39. You should be able to find something comparable either at your local autoparts or somewhere online. I will put you down for one without the splitter. Thanks! thumbs up

That's the piece, on rubber bumper cars it is flat there. Here are pics:

Midget had squared off rear fender from begining thru 71. Went rounded 72-73. Then back to squared with rubber bumber. This pic shows the squared stock wheel well. The rounded one allows bigger tires and most people like it better. In the Ashley GT pictures it would look much better with round wheel wells. I'm thinking a square patch panel, flange the body and bond on.

You know of anyone who is willing to donate their car for a few weeks for the process?

Tony, My friends Midget is a non-running project and too far away. I can post a query on the Midget site on this board to find a volunteer closer to you.

Hi Tony ... I live in San Diego ..

I am putting my front end back together now .. I am waiting for wheel bearings
to come so it might take a week .. but .. if you don't find something by
then I would be happy to drive up there and leave it. I would just need a
ride to the train station to get home.

Mike

btw .. its a 76 midget .. and am talking about the RWA .. I am going
bumperless .. already pulled the heavy rubbers off.
Car has no rust .. but .. it needs a paint job .. so you can't hurt it.

Even though I also have B .. I don't frequent this forum so you might want
to PM me if you are interested.

Jim,

What are the big square holes for in the picture of the brown B?

Mike

That is actually a RB Midget. There were raised areas there where the bumper brackets were. Some cut them out and flush weld patches in. Some hammer them flat with backup behind and skim with Bondo. The light blue one further down in the thread just covered them with stainless or aluminum plate and Bugeye bumpers.
