Hi all - any updates for the 20th, it getting close. I'll be at Britfest 2012 on Saturday May 5th, it's worth going to, about 45 - 60 minutes from NYC, lots of MG's and many other British cars - I know I'll se Mary there, I think she is member of the NJ club that sponsors it - used to be held in Moss Motors parking lot when they were still in NJ - Dave, Dave, Mitch, Willie, Bruno, and all you NY metro guys and girls, if you guys want to make a plan to go to Britfest driving in from Long Island, lets talk, as we can meet in Manhattan and drive out through Holland Tunnel to 78 west, I'm downtown in BPC.

if not at Britfest, I'll see you all on the 20th

Hi Glen.....I'll post an update next week. I'm working on the route and should have it done soon. We'll be driving through Greenwood Lake, Warwick, Chester, Monroe and a few other towns.
We'll probably meet at the Red Apple Rest on old 17 in Sloatsburg but I'm looking for an alternate place on 17. The Red Apple has been closed for years so it's not an ideal meeting place. I have a few places in mind and will check them out before the drive.
Figure on meeting up at 10:30 and starting the drive at 11:00.

Hey Guys-

Hope you all plan on coming to Britfest-we are coming down to the wire with the planning we put into it and everything should go without a hitch. Hope we get good weather!

I finally purchased a B and I might be able to get both Mighty Midget and Queen B to the show. Come one-come all, it would be great to see my MGE Buddies at Britfest.

See you there,

Mary

That sounds great Bruno, I have been there - wow, Red Apple rest was there forever, looking forward to it. Willie, if your coming from Brooklyn, we can meet up in the city (assuming we go over the GWB to the pallasades parkway to route 17)- Dave & Mitchel, if you guys plan to go over the GWB, maybe we can group up before heading north. Keep me posted.

Mary - you tell them!, Britfest is worth going to - I know when I first met all of you guys, I was surprised that you didn't attend this show, it's like the first show of the season - last May the weather was spectacular, you can come as a spectator, or you can register to show your MG, it pretty laid back, there are some die hard competitors with all original or fully restored cars to drool over , but for the most part its fellow mg and british car fans that just love to drive and keep their rides in good condition. last year there was an unbelievable MGA with a jaguar v12 installed, he sectioned the body and added 4" width, check out the photos, I have more

Mary, congrats on your new B, looking forward to seeing it.

Glenn, I'll be at Britfest. Taking the Holland Tunnel from Hudson Street, then Rt1/9 express to I78. I'm planning on Red Apple too. GWB to Rt 4 to Rt 17N all the way.

I usually attend Britfest but this year I can't make it. Our Powdercoating shop has a vendor booth at Rhinebeck for the weekend.

Mary.....congrats on the new B. Tell us about it. What year...what color.....any pics?

Willie, do you come in the Manhattan through the battery tunnel from brooklyn, or one of the bridges - either way. - I live across the west highway, you can see my building when you come out of the tunnel (battery park city), it would be great to meet up and follow each other through Holland tunnel.

Glenn:
I use the Brooklyn Bridge, then cut over to the west side on Duane Street to Hudson Street. If you want we can meet at Hudson and Thomas Street (just a few blocks south of the tunnel - my old workplace).

Haven't made up my mind about Britfest yet. It's a 4 hour round trip drive for me and the several miles of horrendous stop and go 3mph traffic at George on the way home is less than appealing. But if I wake up next Saturday and it's a beautiful warm, sunny day I just might make the trip.

I'll be at the Red Apple on the 20th. It's easier for me to head up the east side of the river to the Tappan Zee.

Mitch, give me a call if you can make it on the 20th and we can drive up together.

Anyone heard from David or Matt yet?
