Anyone else interested in attending the Cape Cod British Car Club's Freezin Fun For Kids Run on Sunday November 13? Starts on the mainland side of the canal in Buzzard's Bay, ends on the cape side in Sagamore. Kinda like the Toys for Tots motorcycle runs, except for LBCs instead. Good cause and lots of good MG roads in the area (Bournedale Road, anyone?)

From now on I'm going to stick to sophmoronic soft porn posts, and simply skip over topics I don't like. So there.

Just an update, the forecast for this Sunday's Cape Cod British Car Club's driving tour looks great! Cloudy, but with temps in the 60's!cool smiley

I just checked their link and they currently have 38 preregistered attendees. Registration is free, but they ask you bring a gift card (Stop & Shop, Target, etc) to donate to the Independence House Program, a service to at risk women and families.thumbs up

Anyone going from the Rhode Island or Southcoast areas, we can meet up and travel together, perhaps Faunce Corner Road, Dartmouth, MA, Exit 12 off Rt I-195. Right off the highway are plenty of gas, breakfast, coffee locations. Post or pm if interested!smiling smiley

Cheers,

Rick

The CCBCC's FFFK2011 run that I've been hawking was run today. A convoy of about 30-40 LBC's took part, including at least 8 MGB's. Rick "Bug Eye Bum" Johnson laid out 45 miles of excellent back roads through Buzzard's Bay, Onset, Wareham, Myles Standish State Park, Plymouth, Sagamore, etc.thumbs up One of the days highlights was when, while all driving "spiritedly" on a particularly twisty road, we came upon a radar trap in a 25 mph zone!eye popping smiley The lights flashed on. . . and then he turned them off and watched the group pass by. Either a LBC fan. . . or maybe didn't have enough tickets left in his book! Afterwards, we took the long way home, so put about 120 miles total on the BGT today.

It was a good day!grinning smiley

Pics below are from the terminus at the Sagamore Inn.

Cheers,

Rick

A Thank You from the Independence Housethumbs up (FYI, I'm NOT the Richard it's addressed to)

Hi Richard,

What a great surprise when I opened the large envelope that came in the
mail yesterday. A formal "thank you" will be sent out next week, but I
just had to let you know that we were all so overwhelmed by the generosity
of the British Car Club and your efforts to raise funds for our Holiday
Helping program.

We have over 30 families signed up for our program and your gift cards and
check donation will go a long way in giving them an opportunity to shop
for and enjoy the holidays.

Again, I am overwhelmed by your kindness and thank you soooo much,

have a wonderful holiday,
Chris Morin

And one more follow up (as I also posted on the MGB & GT page) the Hemmings Motor News van joined us near the end of the route and filed the following story!thumbs up

Hemmings - Not-so-freezin' fun on Cape Cod

(You'll notice my Grampian Gray GT in the first photo crossing the Sagamore Bridge and again in photo #4.)

I see the XK120 is sporting an RAC badge on its grille. Not much point in calling them out if it won’t start after lunch.
