1964 MG 1100 ~ For Sale ! ~
In 63 I bought a MG1100 2 door in S.C while in the Army ,then in 66 I bought a 4 door and drove back to Ca. Always loved that little car so I just bought a 64 MG 1100 4 door blue ( not rust, complete car , blue ,automatic , ran but sat for 8 years , cost me $2500.00 don't really like a automatic but the body is great. Can I change it over to a stick? Also know little about finding new or good used parts or what to look for before I try and start it. Thanks to anyone that can help me understand this car better ROYsmileys with beer

Finding a parts car that was a standard shift is your first concern..gathering the parts individually will be quite a task and time consuming. The engine you have with the automatic will also have to be converted (oil pump), its also a bit involved but well documented procedure with pics can be found on line. The parts car will also me valuable for such parts as the clutch pedal..a plus with the auto is that you will have the upper dog-bone stabilizer. You will need the correct inboard axle stubs unless you get real lucky and find a standard with Spicer joints..(think early Cooper S) but a few AA's did get these I have read, grain of salt here please....the rubber/nylon joints are more prevalent for the standard shift of the era, the automatics used Spicer, much much stronger..you will need the shifter and the rear iso-mounts..the complete clutch hydraulics, some other things but this will give you a good picture of what is involved..
