No apology necessary, Ron. I didn't take it any way other than how you described it. Sometimes it's best to fly below the radar.

Sounds like it'll be an interesting story over a pint or two. smileys with beer

I know this is off topic but i have been trying to email(numerous times) McCregor for some door seals and have had no response. Any ideas? Am asking here cause most of you are in Canada too.

Simon

I will buy the beer cause I want to see your RV8 too. Next on my bucket list.

Ron, Call MacGregor. He is famous for being very, very slow at reading emails. 877-777-6381. Martin will be at the Ancaster British Flea Market, April 22.

No disrespect to Ron, The SV is a nice car, but its just not a car that does it for me. I guess I have small dreams because I actually own my dream car: the MGF. When I bought my MGBGT in 1998 I started looking into MG and first learned of the F and dreamed of owning one for about 12 years. My dream came true least year. Now that I think about it...I'm kind of depressed...no more dreams... Damnit!

Ron, I agree about McGregor. He's not very good with e-mails. When you order make sure you stress that you need the stuff for an event on a certain date, otherwise he's not the quickest at getting it out the door.

No offence taken, if you close your eyes and drive, it is like any other newish sports car. Does not have the old fashioned MG character that I am used to. Its not for everybody, maybe that is why they did not sell very many.

My favorite MG's are still the MGA,MGB,MGC (maybe an RV8 but have never driven one). That is what I grew up with and it brings back fond memories, even the ones walking home.

Part of the reason I bought the SV was my daughter, I gave her a choice, the SV or shoot for a prewar MG. No brainer for her.

I am just a retired enlisted Navy guy, not considered one with unlimited funds. Had to sell two very nice MGA's to help buy it and now I miss them. (But I will get over it)

The MGF is a great car and I am pleased that you have what you wanted for so long. It is still nice to dream about more cars, maybe you need two of them?

My dream is not to buy more cars, just to finish what I have.

And thanks for the info on McGregor, I will call him.

Rich

I like the SVR but not in love with the rear spoiler that are on most. My car has no spoiler and the only thing that distinguishes it from a SVR is the wheels, and the motor.

Rich also knows there's no immobilizer so once he rolls it out of the garage, he's away. That's okay.....I've got insurance.

Both appear to be nice cars. Decisions, decisionsconfused smiley
