Can someone post a good picture or two showing what a good front end with the blue urethane bushings looks like? Thanks.

I'm pretty sure that if you were to take the wheel off f Madge 43 years ago at Marin Imports, her front suspension would have looked NOWHERE near as nice as that. My word, Dana. That's gorgeous.

I wouldn't be too put off, Brian, if the driver you're looking at isn't quite that clean. tongue sticking out smiley

Brian - are you looking for install help or just wondering what they look like installed?

In either case they are well worth using.

WOW, mine doesn't look like that. I can't find picture now, I'd embarrass myself with them.

Wow! How clean can you get? But I still need help with what I'm looking at. So if I buy a bushing kit and replace all the bushings, can you point some arrows at exactly what I will replace in this picture? I'm still learning! I've also looked at the blow-apart list on the Moss site, but I can't quite put them together. Attached is a picture of what I'm looking at more from underneath. Thanks.
Brian

Brian: In reference to the picture above:

The lower main suspension arm is made of two pieces bolted together on either side of the bottom frame cross member. It is the lowest one that has 5 bolts or nuts on it. The outermost one is the nut on the pin through the bottom trunion through the bottom of the kingpin, Next bolt in is the bolt holding the bottom of the red Koni damper in the arm assembly. Next in are the two smaller bolts holding the arm halves together and finally the innermost one is the nut on the front of the inner fulcrum pin.

At the top of the kingpin you have the upper arm assembly. The outermost end of the arm assembly is on the kingpin with a bolt through the upper trunion using the same bolt as the MGB. Next in from that is the through bolt that connects the anti-roll bar end link. After splitting to pass around the top of the damper the arms are mounted on the inner pivot bracket which is bolted to the frame and shimmed for alignment.

The bushings that would be replaced with poly are the pivot bracket bushings in the upper arm assembly, the upper trunion bushings, the lower trunion bushings and the inner fulcrum pin bushings.

What you can't see in this picture are the tie rod and it's bushings. The outer end of the tie rod is just visible along with the verticle bolt that passes through the outer end of the tie rod (the nut is the one just behind the damper bolt.)

Most of the bushings are pressed into the arms, frame and bottom trunion and can be a bit of work, but with the right tool are rather easy to replace and the best thing that can be done to improve an MGC.

C Ya,
Mark
