No idea who he is but there are several forum members in that area between the NASA launch site and Palm Beach...

Any UM specials I see in the US I need to be convinced they are the real McCoy. Not saying anything about Jacks car because I never saw it. Also wondered what happened to it and what happened to Jack?

I wonder if that "rare" '68 roadster is that rusted hulk of a car that showed up a while back in early '68 Canadian trim with a steel dash? I still see that pop up on CL from time to time.

Jack brought his UM special over from the UK. I've no doubt it was the real McCoy. Sadly, Jack passed away last year. Bill

Ron, I thought that we had talked about his passing last year. Mark Saylor had mentioned it on another thread. I saw the UM special which he had stored in a shipping container, as I recall, when I picked up the auto trans for my car a couple years ago. It was one of several cars that he had in and around the shop. He had quite a lot of other bits and spares as well. The question remains - what happened to all of it? Dave

I had corresponded with James Dean (eBay seller jaguru) earlier this year, and we talked of Jack's passing. James said that he had some of Jack's C parts.
I'll ask him if he knows what happened to the UM Special.

Yes I do remember the passing of Jack after Bill reminded me. I was hoping no one would remember that I forgot. Sometimes getting old sucks but it still beats the alternative.

If you store cars in a shipping container, make sure it is ventilated. Hot sun on a cold container gives you lots of condenstaion and it rains inside.

James Dean has informed me that Jack left his cars to a close friend, who has since sold the UM special.
Coincidentally, Jack's "close friend" lives near Fort Pierce, FL. So, the Fort Pierce cars listed on Craig's List may, in fact, have been formerlly Jack's cars.
