Known To The State Of California

I have seen warning labels that state that this product is known to the state of California to cause cancer, brain damage, reproductive harm, hair loss, and just about any other medical condition known to the human race. So what other stupid warnings have you seen on products?

Wife got a new blow dryer the other day, one of the warnings was do not use while sleeping.

Noticed on my shop vac which has in big letters "Wet/Dry Vac", warning label says do not use on wet floors.

The state of California is just being proactive about warning citizens of the very real dangers of various chemicals. Not everyone is as bright as folks who drive and work on MGs. I can't fault them, but must admit the wording sometimes invites a laugh.

My favorite one was on a piece of workout equipment at our physical therapist's office:

"Stop Immediately if You Feel Dizzy or Faint"

The newer piece of equipment he replaced it with had the same sticker, rephrased:

"Stop Immediately if You Feel Faint or Dizzy"

That's scary. Do you think someone actually tried to fold a stroller with their kid still in it?

Thought you might have seen it on this site, but maybe it was the internet.A picture of a sign at a pharmacy that said."Do not open package to inspect or try on" The product was condoms! The photo was much funnier than this post. I guess its impossible to idiot proof an idiot.

One of the stupidest ones I remember involved fishing lures that the State of California made the manufacturer recall because they didn't contain the warning "Do not put in mouth."

Not much different from those "Slippery When Wet" street signs. The tendency to over-warn has been around for years, but it is getting worse. It's almost as though half of people were too stupid to not realize fire can burn, water can drown, and roads are dangerous.

All because of the idiot who sued Macca's after burning herself with coffee.

I like the one I've seen an a hairdryer or two - Do not use while in the shower.

Or the Kids Cough Syrup - do not operate machinery while taking this medicine. Does a trike, pedal car or skate board count as machinery?

Around here lately I'm seeing a new type of roadway sign in certain places: "HILL OBSTRUCTS VIEW". Well, du-uh!

Road sign wise, could some one explain what a Sunken Grade actually is? I've several of these signs, but seen nothing unusual with the road.

Simon, my "sunken grades" almost always occurred in school!

I saw a large, industrial microwave oven with a sign that said "Do not enter - enclosed space".

I kinda figured the enclosed space wasn't the worst concern!

77 MGB - Four tone paint - some kind of electronic ignition - hood props - cheap tires - new springs all around - mixture of poly and rubber bushings - original exhaust - fuzzy seatcovers - stereo out of old F150 pickup - virtually no rust - right front wrecked and semi well repaired - just about right for me!

78 MGB - Done right by a good PO, and I only bought it. Tell Jim how nice it is. But I did put in a Datsun 5 speed.

79/65 MGB - Tubby - Carmine Red - V-6 - T-5

My favorite from a TV commercial a few years ago...

"May cause sudden and uncontrollable oily discharge"

Don't remember what drug it was for but I was sure glad I didn't need to take it.

Nope, doesn't say anything about any other body parts.
I always like the picture of someone standing under the forks of a fork lift
And the one of someone sticking their hand into the blades of a lawn mower.
Sad thing is, most of the warning are there because someone did it then someone got sued for it.

It may just be an urban legend, but I'm sure we all heard about the guy who put his new motor home into cruise control and went to get a drink of water.

And supposedly, now they have to put in the drivers manual an explanation of what the control is used for?
