I am restoring my 1952 MG TD MKii.
I noticed that the frame of my car has some kind of metal strip at both sides of the front suspension. It is not clear to me what the function of these strips is.
I did not see a strip like that on any picture on the internet of a TD frame.
A picture of the strip at the driver side as well as the passenger side of the (LHD)car is included.
Can someone solve this mystery for me?

Wout Ram

P.S. I bought the car from someone who started to restore it but did not complete the job, so the car was not fully assembled when I obtained it. Otherwise I would have known what the function of the strip is.

I don't know what your calling a strip. But the brackets in front of the coil spring pockets it for the Andrex shaock link to bolt into.

Some pictures for you. Brackets were only present on the MKII cars. I assume you do not have the Andrex shocks?

Thanks for the information.
Andrex shocks were present when I bought the car but were not mounted.
Mystery solved.
