I have a Messko water temperature gauge that mounts in the radiator cap. It was made in Berlin GE. Anyone know what cars came equipped with the gauge or was it an after market item?

Thanks

I don't know if it was a factory install but I have one on mine and another local club member has one on his.

Looks good Matthew. I was told that the temperature gradients faced front. But in every picture I've seen they face the driver. The gauge I bought was attached to a Mercedes radiator cap. I've since attached it to a second MG TD radiator cap. I did find the following site that has information on our and other vintage radiator cap gauges. http://www.motometercentral.com/boyce-moto-meter-competitors

Hello Tim,
I got one on my TC as well. Bought it from USA though it comes from Germany.
Have a look on "Messko Thermometer", they were competitor to Boyce and others.

1922
Concentration on manufacturing radiator thermometers for motor vehicles.

1935
The 'MESSKO' brand name is created from the German words for "measuring" and "control".

Attached to e.g. Bugatti, Lanz tractors, Hanomag

Belonging to pre-war cars they look -at least in my opinion- also nice on a TC from ´49 whose original appearance was in the thirtees.
Always felt the radiator cap a bit naked. o. k. it´s not a Bentley . . .
Regards
Bernd

Bernd, thanks for the info. The gauge came attached to what looks like a Mercedes radiator cap. Probably some Mercedes restorer would love to have it. I like the look as well. Although not original on my car I installed the water temp/ oil pressure gauge. But I'll probably fit the Messko gauge for looks. I would like to know the year mine was made.
