Finally some progress

I did plan on going to the Berkshire British car show in Lenox, MA today. But instead I decided to spend the day working on my car instead of looking (drooling) at other people's cars.

I gave the gas tank a final rinse with some gasoline to get any dirt out. I did clean it with an acid solution before I painted it but wanted to give it a last cleaning before I mounted it for good. So after doing a lot of reading on Dave Braun's site I mounted the tank, straps and tire carrier. There were no holes in the rear of the tub when I got the car so it took a while to figure those out. It was tight at first but after going to a thinner rubber pads on the bottom and moving the the triangular tank supports down some it fit like a glove. Now that the dash is wired and the tank is plumbed I should be able to start it soon. Just have to make sure I remember to hook up the oil pressure gauge before I do.

Here's a few pics of the back of the car. Now i can get the rear fenders mounted and all the back lights wired in.

Now I'm at the point to get a new battery. What size or group is the most common? Any suggestions?

Thanks for all the help and information I got on this site so far. And a big thanks to D. Braun for posting the pics that reminded me to run the license plate pull wire through the tire frame. I really don't want to take the tire carrier off again.

WOW, I love the color and the burled wood on the dash. Keep posting pictures as you go along.
Dave B. has some very helpful pictures on his web site, and he's a nice guy too.
