My 67 B with a 72 18V engine has lots of blowback spewing oil out the side vent tube. I've been having the body stripped and painted for the last 9 months and she is nearly ready so now I need a better engine hopefully within a day's drive from Pensacola or shipped. Can anyone help get me ready for The road? Thanks

If you're using it with the original 3-synchro gearbox, make sure you save the backplate and flywheel from your old engine.

FWIW,
Allen

Thanks Guys. The 3 synchro gearbox was long gone when I bought the car nearly 30 years ago. It's probably the same gearbox that came with the 72 engine. Neither have been pulled out while I owned it., I've never been inside the engine either. It's had water pumps, 2 or 3 fuel pumps and timing chains and 4or 5 sets of Carbs. I've got a OD unit, also, from a 72 bought a few years ago. My goal is a strong engine paired with my OD gearbox. If I could find one rebuilt recently with a little higher CR then that would be great. I most often use 93 octane gas.
