I bought this car as a future project back when I was a tender innocent youth of 74 years. I'm on the cusp of 78 now, with one restoration less than half-finished and yet another to follow. I fear I won't get to the MGA after that, so it's time to cut it loose.

It is a good restoration candidate. First thing I noticed is the beautiful door gaps. This is a very straight car. The biggest minus is that the engine is seized. Some PO has removed the sump. I don't know what he did, but his efforts to turn the engine failed - as did mine. I poured Marvel Mystery Oil, as well as brake fluid in the combustion chambers, let it soak for weeks, and I still cannot budge this engine. Small consequence as I planned to build an 1800 for it anyway.

While I can't guaranty it, I believe the car is fundamentally complete. The original hood (top), hood frame, and seats were missing when I bought the car. I have purchased hood, frame, and seats for it, as well as a brand new grill. I have an extra set of wheels for it - one of the originals is missing. This is a steel-wheel car - a definite plus for guys like me who hate detailing wire wheels.

There is some rust-through on the sills and, I believe, the dog-legs. A new pair of sills come with the car. The car is a roller - easy to load on a trailer or roll-back. A partial log, kept by one PO, comes with the car. I have collected a few new parts for the car here and there: heater control pod, front parking lamps, etc.

Attached are three photos of the car. I'm happy to take more for folks seriously interested.

Thanks,
Allen

Price: $2900.00 - modestly negotiable.
Location: North Street, MI 48049

I'm surprised that it is still for sale.. If I weren't at that 74 mark I would own it.

Hi Gary,

I'm not sure what "still" for sale means - I just put it up for the first time yesterday. Oh to be 74 again! As I said, I'm still restoring a car - a pull-handle '65 B - at age 77 (for one more week) and I have one to follow - a great-running '69 C/GT. I'm not done yet, but at my present rate, I'll be close to 90 before I get started on the MGA!

Everybody,

Thanks for your comments. I neglected to say that the car does have a valid title. ' Glad you think my price is reasonable; I'd rather make friends than money. I have some offers and have yet to respond.

Many thanks for your interest.

Allen

I meant it had been for sale for over an hour and no one bought it.. Looks like a great deal for younger person. I am doing a light resto on a 67GT and then I'm done. Course I said the same thing after the 71GT..

Gary,

I hear ya. ' Doing a '65 pull-handle B now and have a '69 C/GT - now a driver - needing some attention. ' Still love working on the cars but I'm slowing down.

The MGA is now sold. ' Regrets to those who were disappointed, and my thanks for a great buyer. ' Wish I had about five more just like it!

Holiday Cheers,

Allen

Looks like it's time for me to bring this inactive account to life.

Looking forward to scheduling the delivery and starting a restoration log here on the forums.
