Hi Guys! I signed up for an intro to racing with Skip Barber at Lime Rock, driving a Formula Dodge. Anyone drive these yet? I am concerned if I need to buy racing shoes because the pedal placement is so close. I tried the fit at the Trans Am races, and it isn't going to work with sneakers. Any tips would be appreciated. I did a few laps in an Indy car years back. First time with a sequential transmission though. Thanks, Mitch.

I drove, one did not remember it being a problem, a nicel tightly fit set of runiing shoes should do fine...

If you end up having to buy some, google "Trackside Tim", that's Tim Lee, he has been selling at the races for years, and always has good deals. For the rest of you guys, he also a good place to get a custom made suit, he makes suit for several different suppliers/retailers, and you can buy from him direct and he does custom work/fit for a good price, can bascily make you anything you want.

I did the Skip Barber three day school, the pedals are close together, but should be workable with a tight pair of shoes like Pumas or wrestling shoes. Although if you decide to do more racing at all a good pair or shoes are worth the investment. Also the formula dodge the use for the school does not have a sequential gear box or wings like to racing series cars. They just have a standard H pattern with a transaxle similar to a formula ford.
