MGVR races at Au Grattan--Couriers invited!

I don't have details yet but the MGVR group is inviting all Elva Couriers to race with it at the VSCDA Au Grattan races August 17-19 at Grattan, Michigan.

This invitation is apparently a big deal as MGVR normally limits participation in its events to MG Marqued cars. While this includes MG "Specials" it has not included separately marqued cars with MG power such as TVR, Elva, and no doubt a few others. This will probably translate into one more racing session per day than we would otherwise get, and we have the opportunity to put our higher power to weight ratio to good advantage against our heavier brethren.

I am planning on attending and will be seeing MGVR member Chris Meyer at Mosport next weekend and will probably get further information. In the meantime please pass this along to any Courier racers you may know.

Best--Michael Oritt

Perhaps my glass is just perpetually half full, Dick, but I chose to take "heavier brethren " to be a 60's-slang compliment: Serious, uber-competent, intelligent, superior; handsome, too. cool smiley Certainly that applies to you and me.

Michael, great that you are coming. I love other tracks like Road America or Mosport for their history, karma, energy and beauty, but nothing produces more grins than Grattan.

When I lived in Mich. Grattan was my home track. I always felt that when you got your car handling and driving well at Grattan, it would be "kick-ass-dynamite" at places like Mid-Ohio, IRP, and Road America.devil smiley

Well in my time a Minotaur was a C Sedan race on a twisty track.
Seem to recall something about a lot of bull too...
