Have heard that a TR7 driven plate helps, more surface, never did it.
Also thought about using a TR6 pressure plate, which would require fiddling to get a release bearing that works. Never did that too!
If you can find somebody who rebuilds clutches, you can likely come up with something substantially stiffer. Used to have such a guy here, but he would now be about 120yrs, and they have torn down the factory.

I using a Spec Clutch on a Fidanza, Google them up, they have improved clutches for the MGB that fit stock type bolt pattern, they come in many different stages, mine is unsprung disc with three puck, Stage 4 cltuch, I think Dick M. uses a similar set up but with a sprung disc, their PP looks very much improved over stock, I would suggest a Spec stage 1, a good set for street car, and then you can go from there for competition cars. I like Spec Clutches appraoch because they allow a racing quilty cltuch set up that fits a stock flywheel bolt pattern, so that allows us MGB racer to use the easier and less expensive Fidanza stock replacment aluminum flywheel and get a uprated race clutch, vs dedicating to the Tilton/Quarter Master 7.5" type racing clutch which takes alot expensive pieces to make happen.

Yep, Spec Clutch is the way to go. They're very conversant with LBCs, and offer a wide variety of clutches for our cars. www.specclutch.com
