Hey all,

Here are some of my favorite MG shots from Watkins Glen this weekend. If you're interested, I've got some non-MG shots here!

Enjoy!

Maybe someone else can jump in with more details but all I know is what the entry list says: it's a '68 C GTS owned by a Ken Williamson. It's a sharp car! I wish I had more photos of it but I went really light in the picture taking department this year...

I do have this shot, but none others:

I met Ken back at the Collier Cup in 2004 (we were racing a B). Wonderful man. Had some minor troubles over the weekend, but the car (and the driver) were quick. Couldn't quite keep up with the V8s, but he was at the front.

Great photos, thanks for sharing.

Fred, some of those cages look like the old New England farmhouses that just kept adding on rooms as the family grew.

I dont know why you wouldnt saw off the current cage at the door bars and rebuild ach time they change the rules?

Yes, Alan is really coming into his own these days, and it's nice to see. He's a great guy to hang around with in the pits.

thumbs up

Thanks guys for all the positive comments. I'm glad to have been able to share my passion for photography with you.

I also meant to add in my original post that if you would like a full-size copy of any of the photos, I am more than willing to share (especially if it's your car). Just let me know which one(s) and an email address I can send them to and I will.

Is Ken Williamsons' C GTS this same car??

http://www.mgcars.de/seiten/sebring_gts.html

If you compare the engine bay shot here with that in the link, the brake and clutch fluid reservoirs are identical, the aluminium pedal box cover, the bonnet catch release cable, the rocker cover breather hoses ( abeit yellowed with age now ), plus the aluminium protective panels on the rear guards ( or is it an unpainted section of the factory alloy body?? ), the small round red reflector on the righthand side rear below the reversing light, plus a few other details.

Could this car be one of the 6 alloy bodied factory GTS cars?? or a very very good copy?? That link gives the chassis number of that car, anyone know what Ken's chassis number is?? It wouldn't be too hard to find the 6 factory chassis numbers ( I don't have my book with me - The Works MG's ). Definately needs follow up, could be a very significant car in our midst...... Oh the suspense and possibilities

And here too, did Tony sell it on after he finished rebuilding it??

I believe Ken told me his car was a Sebring car. Either that or he has a Sebring car at home. He is a great guy, I generally only see him once a year at WG in September. I have his contact info and if I can, I will ask him to log onto this post and letr us know the history.
