This was sent to me by my friend in the Mustang a while back.
I was letting my Son have his first proper runs in the MGB for a whole day while I was pit crew for him. This was a treat for him as he rebuilt my motor and put it back for me while I was off work for many weeks with a back injury. If he had not helped out I would not have been able to get back on track last year. Last year he was 21 and this was his first V8 engine build while I sat on a chair in the garage to talk him through the work. This must have given him some idea's. Because he no longer wants to turbo his MK1 MR2. he is now putting a V8 into an old Ford Escort smiling smiley
It seems he has got the V8 bug !!

Well, I post this in the MGB section because that's the water cooler of the MGE, then on the Magnette and A sections because those are the vehicles that these are direct fits in BUT I post here because most know about them but have never seen one installed. The MGB system requires different installation but all the rest is the same basic information. Can I say this is a conversion and therefore it fits our corner of the MGE?

Hi, My name is OBie (OBie, pronounced oh bee ...Orange B)
I’m 38 years old and still a year round daily driver. Paul and I have been together for over 13 years and 204K miles now.

Just after my 37th birthday Paul agreed at 204K+ miles, a pacemaker was simply not enough. So he gave me a full heart transplant. Recuperation was barely a month. (Was the donor on steroids…I can’t see in there). Paul also made sure my electronics would keep the new ticker pumping at it’s best.
Megasquirt™ fuel injected 1992 GM 3.1L with a few custom tidbits. WC T-5 tranny and a narrowed 10 bolt rear.
Completely rewired with 10 relays and 14 fuses

On my 38th birthday, Paul gave me new running shoes and socks to help me exercise my new heart!
(Rota RB 15x7 shoes and 195/50-15 Toyo socks)

I guess he still likes his tunes though. He installed Miata seats for the headrest speakers .
You’d think he’d simply enjoy just listening to me howl.

Setting up OBies engine before installation. This was before the Fiero cast valve covers were installed as seen in the above videos
yep... a bit overkill...but having a full stand to fire up an engine and tune the Megasquirt was good choice before deciding to finally chop into OBie for the install.

The LS1-powered MGB GT on the road! Sorry, no smoky burnouts in the video. Next time.

Full details on the car at SlowCarFast.com/MG. Basically, it's a GT with a lightly modified all-aluminum LS1 stuffed inside along with a T56 6-speed box. Total weight is just under 2400 lbs, horsepower is somewhere around 350-400. Suspension is all custom-made stuff with a track that's about 4" wider than MG standard.

The first track test yesterday! This isn't a track car, but that's where you test things. Stick around for the exciting conclusion, and find out what happens when your vented gas cap leaks on hard turns.

No MGs were harmed in the making of this video.

Front coil over suspension is done and testing completed.

This film shows how the suspension behave during testing on farm roads and roads that are rough and uneven.

The suspension shows how stable the car was. Tests were conducted to achieved the coil spring rate Vs sway bar.

Other films will also show the anti dive.

It is our attitude that will determine the outcome
