Painting the engine

Got the engine all cleaned up and decided on a grey colour for the paint, so I spent time today masking and spraying the engine with a good decent coat. Decided to do the plenum the same colour as the car for a bit of pop when you open the hood.

Question though should I leave the tappet covers black or should they also be painted the grey colour.

Opinions please.

Personally, I like a little contrast in the engine bay.

I left my Rover block natural and painted the valve covers the same shade as the body.

Different ways to go about it.
My Gt will have (not done yet) a silver engine bay and the engine a cast iron gray with the fins to match the color of the car which is
Dark/Yellow Green that is the name of the GM color. The interior will be dark gray.

The project Red B the engine is Chevy orange with polish Fiero covers.

My Jag the engine is black with covers painted two tone.

Hope it helps.

Waiting for an excuse.

Red/Black/an awesome Hi Heat Rustoleum aluminum that needs to be put in the oven, and polished aluminum when practical. Or even when not.

Thanks, Bill. I need to take some more pictures, as I've done a bit more to it since then. Finally turning the corner here!

Very common on Mopar I had a 68 Super Bee with the 335 hp 383. Wrinkle paint on the valve covers...very cool.
