Using Stock ford clutch cable

Has anyone used the stock clutch cable on ford 302 swap. Worth it to try, or easier to just go with a slave cylinder?

Biggest issue I see is adapting the cable/linkage to the MGB clutch pedal, and optimizing cable length and travel.
Spacewise - it will be tight in the tranny tunnel but doable. As I recall the cable anchor tab on the bellhousing had enough projection that required some metal relief in the tunnel sheetmetal.

Yeah sounds like i would be opening a can of worms, getting into that. Whats the most common slave cylinder people use? Id prefer to use one that bolts up to the facory line.
Thats why i was gonna get a tr6 slave cyl. Ive seen some others use it, but is it ideal? I dont know.

I set up my project with the clutch cable. I had it working (never drove it) but then I decided I just didn't like it. I used a rubber bumper pedal box, basically I had to fabricate an extension on the front of the box to hold the cable sheath. Had to weld a little tab on the top of the clutch pedal for the cable to attach to. The pedal felt fine, but I can't say if the release point would have been good or not. Another factor that entered into my decision to scrap it was numerous stories about the cable on mustangs breaking on a fairly regular basis. Decided that hydraulic is just a better solution. This guy also uses a cable on his car: http://www.britishv8.org/MG/DennisMcIntyre.htm

There's a few different approaches that have been documented. Attached photo is one slave adaptation from Joe Schaffer's 302 conversion (and I think the same approach used by Rob Ficalora).
Mine (second photo) uses the original MG clutch M/C and a 3/4" bore Nissan product mounted to side of the T5 xsmn. Cutch fork in mine has been shortened by 3/4".
