1275 oil filter

my midget 1275 I don't have the oil filter on the motor and I looked at advanced auto today in the oil filter catalog, no reference can someone tell me what oil filter the 1275 takes

I am not sure but i think that your '71 doesn't take a spin-on filter but takes a cartridge. If that is the case then I would convert it to a spin-on system

the 1971 Midget was a cartridge! That what I got in mine - ok mine a 75 with a 71 engine OK!!

This 1275 is spin on, it's just I threw the old oil filter away, moved, stored and now putting car back together

Not sure why the filters didn't show up in the catalog, but if you check Advance online, they show multiple filters for a 1275. One note - there are several filters that fit, but they are different lengths/ heights. The longer ones are just more difficult to remove/replace because of the frame. The Mobil 1 M1-102 (now its M1-102A) is shorter and easier to get on and off, and seems to be a decent filter. I also tried one of those filter wrenches that looks like a cup that fits over the end of the filter and it works great in the confined space of a Midget.
