I am going to teach my wife how to start, use the clutch and drive our little friend tonight.
My wife's Honda had a little bump-up with a BIG black dog yesterday and we are taking her car to have it repaired tomorrow, so she says, "I'll just drive the Midget till my car is ready". Poor little Midget is going to be terrorized in a few hours.

After Valentine's Day shopping for my wife, and replacing a bad window regulator in her Sebring, the only time I had for Midgets today was to take a pic of the nose from my 72, and do very little to it. This is the before photo. I have drilled out the rivets for the surround, straightened the bent areas, and wire brushed the rust. Now it is time to clean up for dinner. Next step will be to sand blast it, prime and paint it, and then it will be ready to go back on the car, but not today...

Drove it to work, and asked people on the forum why I have lost horse power. Will drive it home in an hour.

I looked at the heater box in pieces on my office floor, primed and ready for paint. Saw the new-used heater core still wrapped in plastic on the work bench then stared into the engine bay looking at all the "stuff" that needs to come out so it can be painted... shivered in the 30 degree garage and went back inside. On the bright side the weather is warming so I perused the threads dealing with crankcase ventilation ( I know my lines need a little re-routing)and even had a passing thought of driving to the store to get the semi-gloss paint to do the "Black stuff" under the bonnet. Naw...suns out so why not work in the garden a little!

Waiting for parts and for warmer weather...

Washed my flywheel in the dishwasher... Considered: Should I paint the flywheel or just coat it with oil?

Tonight, its Valentine's dinner thumbs up

Tomorrow, I plan to clean and prep some parts for painting.

As soon as its warm enough... I will finish my motor assembly. winking smiley

Drove the Midget to the store, valentine shopping, with the heater blasting and the tonneau cover on.

I found that dang RATTLE I've been dealing with. My handy little camera found the culpret in the bottom of the drivers side inner fender well. The camera paid for it's self again.
