I wanted to lighten it up in the cabin, so gone with the 43 yr old black carpets and new biscuit carpets in.

Fresh paint always looks good, a new chrome valve cover, and new antenna.

Added that classic mirror retro look with a sweet looking "Chinetti International Motors" cavallino badge to top it off.

Hi, I got them from ebay seller, it was under $200. Abit tricky putting them in, need to glue them on with 3m glue and trim some areas but besides that was a breeze.

That is some nice paint! How about some details about it and what did it cost you?

Hello Jeff,

I bought it painted already, but from what I know, it was painted 10 years ago 'Fire Engine Red', from a distance it looks like Rosso Corsa like my Mondial but the car has been driven less than 500 miles and always covered in the garage so the paint looks brand new. Also it looks to be a quality paint job $1500-3000 paint job I would say. Anyways, I've sorted all of the issues and got the engine started and running after a year of sitting but have a clutch problem I am looking into. Hope to get it on the roads soon and to the next C&C event.

Cheers!

Mike, the MG's garage mate is flashing a little thigh in one of your photos. Pretty!
Nice collection you have there!

Thanks, here are more of my 88 3.2 MONDIAL cabrio I spent the last year restoring, she's called Robin!
Now Robin has a baby sister! The weekend drives are nice with any of these cars!

Cheers

Update: I had a small tear, tried to patch it using vinyl patch and iron, didn't work. So I bought the Midget dash cover, really nice!
Great affordable solution to getting your dash looking like new, especially if you have lots of cracks. Goes on like a glove, perfect fit, light weight, and comes with glue to hold in tight. I would highly recommend it folks! bought mine new off ebay seller for $70 free shipping.

cheers

Mike, as I mentioned in one of your other posts, consider starting a photo album record of all your work. You have great stuff to share!

Also, how about some details on constuction and fitting of the map pocket I see on the passengers side of the transmission tunnel in one of your photos?

Ohhhhh, I love that photo of the garage with your two little cars

That mondial looks awesome.... I used to work at aftersales for ferrary in Spain. Have driven many 360 and 430..... nothing special, I was not impressed... very loud and all people making photos at the light stops.

But the day I first drove a classic style ferray, with the manual alu gearbox, I started to understand the sensation of driving a real ferrary.

Hey Mike,
The map pockets came from spare parts of the Mondial project I had left over. Basically came from a Ferrari 430, I just trimmed it down in the center and reattached it.
Screws on nicely to the carpets and looks cool.

Yes, I probably should start a photo album of all the things I am doing to my 69 Midget, I've come along way since I bought this car from my neighbor a few months ago as a project car to work with my 7 year old son.

cheers!

My Custom rear Wind blocker for MG Midget:

Just wanted to share my custom design for a cool wind blocker design if you guys do not use the soft top. I don't drive this car in the rain, so there is no need for a soft top.
But incase I get caught in the rain, I will be designing a spider top for the cabin which will keep water out of the cabin when car is parked.

Anyways, the wind blocker is 30" x 7" made of 1/4 inch plexi glass with a maple wood base.

Free royalties from me.

Cheers!
