US Spec 1275 (1974) gulp valve to smog pump hose source needed

Hello. I know a bit of standard hose will work, but I'm looking to avoid the cable ties needed to get the routing correct (and to avoid rubbing on the bonnet). I cant find a source for the original formed hose anywhere. Any ideas? Thanks!

Thats part number 12G 1648 (do a google search for 12G1648 and you get a ton of links to Lexpark printer parts). As you've already discovered, its not easy to come by new. One sollution is simply hunt down a used hose. Thats what I did when I was restoring the emissions system. Mine doesnt have any sines of dry rot or cracking, maybe I got lucky. Another solution is a Gates Unicoil, http://www.gates.com/brochure.cfm?brochure=4961&location_id=541

I dont know of any method to shape your own hoses. Also you better have the air restrictor in there, otherwise it wont work right.

Thanks so much Seth! You're right... From the part number you gave, I didn't get a single hit for an NOS part available but I did find some fantastic BL part number diagrams for the 1275 motor... on your SpridgetGuru site. That'll come in handy!

Thanks for the note Trevor; I'll PM you right now. To anyone who reads this thread down the line... I'd still be interested in an NOS hose.

Whenever I've needed an odd-ball molded hose, I trip on down to my local NAPA at an off-hour (like 10am or 3pm) and have a gander at the plethora of molded hoses they have in stock.

Typically I can purchase one or two and "cut-n-paste" up a hose to work. Using copper tubing or steel electrical conduit makes for a relatively clean splice.

To be uber-crafty you can bond the pieces together with adhesive with the chunk of pipe on the inside... no give-away the secret clamps!
