It's your car paint it what YOU want. I am not a red person due to the fact that I worked at a Porsche dealership thru the end of the 80's. Guards Red is a great color but almost every car. If you don't want to keep it stock, paint it something different. My wife has a friend who is a well known interior designer and when she wants to change a room color she seeks his advice. He usually comes up with something that sounds a little strange but look outstanding. I think the best way is to find a car with a similar shape and look at all the colors. The shape has a lot of influence on how a color looks. I ordered a pair of 911 Turbos for a good customer back in the 80s, he ordered one in 1968 Jag BRG with BRG leather to sample and Guards Red seat piping. I thought what (I am a visual person)the car arrived and it was stunning. One thing just don't pick a trendy color you won't like it in a year. Just my 2 cents.

If your a fan of Orange I would go with GM's Atomic orange or Chrysler's Orange Blast.

If I did not stick with factory on mine last year..I would have went with one of those.

I rather liked this two-tone idea Jason Farkas had for his Midget.

Well just as Jeff had said in another post, I'm not liking the little trim strip near the sill. Don't want weld the holes in or dimple them and glass over them, so, maybe take some ss screws, put some sealer on them and screw them in the holes that way if I ever choose to use the trim it will be do-able. I'm down to Chrome (or some other bright) yellow or a dark but bright blue. I also have trouble with stores having so many different candy bars, hard to choose the right one!

Lowes will have press in plastic plugs for those holes that will look better than screws... paint to match body, pop them in, remove when you want. I use them for the bumper mount holes... they are hard to see unless you are right up near the car.

Best advice I can offer is DONT look at paint chips or photos. Look at the color on a car, on a bright sunny day.

Toyota had some really light, bright yellows for the MR2.

In dark blue metallics, look at 96 Corvette Admiral Blue, as used on the GrandSpprts. For something with a little more indigo to it, try Chevy Silverado LeMans blue, 2008-10 I think.

For a very dark, deep blue, 2013 Mustang Deep Impact Blue has great "highlights", also used on 2005-6 Ford GT.

On the tc series "an mg is reborn", they used a Aston Martin DB4 grey colour, and have to say that the result was superb. If you are not thinking on original colours, then take a look at those classic colours from that kind of brands: bentley, daimler, RR, Aston, Jag..

First think the colour you want: red, black, green, blue.... then search the tone you like from the options I gave you before
