Wanted: Aftermarket Lugs #1

I have a 70 Midget with aftermarket rims. When I bought the car, two studs were broken off; after replacing the studs I now need lugs that will fit my rims. If you know where I can get lugs like these it would be greatly appreciated.

Dan, That may be difficult to get in 3/8". I was told they are no longer available. You can get them in 7'16, but that doesn't help, only if you changed the stud size and that could be a headache to get done.

Ebay is the only place you can get 3/8 acorn magnum lugs

Are you doing the american racing 60 slate hurrican wheels... I thought i was the only one to do them...how did you find them in the correct PCD... I had to have my holes sloted and a special lug centric adapter made....but i think when i upgrade my suspension this fall i can go with the 7/16 lugs and no longer need the lug centric adaptors

I also took the time to paint (between the slates in satin black) which looks awsome but i took the advice of a pro thats no longer in business and sprayed coated a wheel clear over the finished wheel... It looked great for a year, then started turning yellow and flaking off... So I will end up redoing my wheels eventually...augh !!!

But yes they look amazing and i love them..theres a good chance you may need to get a rear pan hardrod and modify it to work on a street car...cause the wheel back spacing on the wheel is thicker and there will be only 1/2 to 3/4 inch of space from the tire to the wheel well lip so the tire is going to rub everytime in a lean turn.. Or you could convert to round wheel arches

Anyway... Keep me posted... Its worth the hassle and cost... If you have to do everything i did .. it wont be cheap.. but it wil be worth it...

Just curious... Have you tried a test fit yet...to make sure the wheels will fit on the lugs....

That was a bad day for me... I spent all that time renovating my wheels then took 2 wheels to have mounted and balanced then back to the shop to install and only to find the PCD was wrong....children 3 miles away learned new colorful adjectives that day....hahaha....that was truely a hard day...esp after bragging to 4 continants on planet earth for like 6 weeks straight about how cool my wheels where going to be...so for about 3 days, i was the cosmic joke in our entire solar system... Thats always good.

These wheels actually came with the car, so I was lucky there. When I bought the car, however, each of the back wheels had a lug sheared off. Why? I do not know. But I replaced the studs and before I can drive the durn thing I have to find 2 3/8" acorn lugs.

Id say they sheared the most get sheared ...our old dear friend Mr rust...at 47 ive broken about 5 wheel studs in my life time trying to remove wheels....so it does happen

But please keep me informed... Im just a huge fan of these wheels and would love to know what you come across

Well, for the time being, I've solved the problem. There's a guy about 20 miles away who runs an import shop and he got me something close. However, after closer inspection of the wheels, it looks like someone widened the holes on them. They didn't do a very good job either. thumbs down

Soon, I will most likely invest in a new set. Thanks everyone.

3/8" lugnuts are hard to come by, we use later design 60 degree tapered lug nuts with out VTO wheels, and the last time we ran out, they had to make a production run, it took 4 months to get them,m we got caught out on this because we had a run on Midget whell, that within itself was a oddity smiling smiley

. On the old style shoulder lug nuts, make sure to measure your shoulder diameter, dial caliper will work fine for this, not all of the shoulder diameters were the same.
