Accidentally bought a new toy that will be cutting into my British car hobby. Note that this is not much bigger or heavier than the MGB GT.

Out to the street to take this picture might be the furthest the GT gets this year!

Cool! I saw the Subaru version at a cars and coffee a few months ago. (Some factory guys were out promoting). I got a free t-shirt but no test drive.

Not much bigger maybe, heavier definitely.

Since the BGT won't be getting much attention this summer, I'd gladly take her for a few spins to keep the seals lubricated spinning smiley sticking its tongue out

I believe the GT is 2400 lb and this one is 2700 llb, so hot such a big difference. The low weight, ultra low center of gravity (same seating positon as the GT) and the fact that is is REAR wheel drive, make it a blast to drive.

Since it is a rear wheel drive vehicle, Toyobaru, in its wisdom, had installed a "stability control" system to keep you from spinning out at every available opportunity. Of course, they also include a button to shut off this electronic nanny.

The problem though, is when you DO turn off the electronic chapperone, it is the same as knowing that you cute girlfirend is not wearing any panties under her dress: It puts you of a mind to do bad things at every opportunitydevil smiley

I calculated a 450 pound curb weight difference, which may not be much for the 200 hp scion to handle, but may be a little much for the little 95 hp GT to lug around. Thats like carrying around an extra 3 of me! And stability control is standard on every car now, its mandated.
