Water Leaking In When Raining

I drove my recently resurrected 1977 1500 in the rain for the first time. Kinda of an interesting experience. While the top kept me nice and dry, the floor next to the seats got wet as did the trunk (boot) behind the license plate area. Having just repaired the rust on the floor near the seats and in the foot wells, I hate to let water sit in there and re-rust it. Does anyone have any tricks to keep the area dry or to dry it out after driving in the rain. Mine lives in the garage while not in use, so I have just been leaving the trunk (boot) open and the windows open.

You should have drain holes in your floors.
I also have a bit of leak in my trunk and have determined it is from the chrome MG emblem, I should have put sealant in the holes before attaching.
I'd take towels and dry it out then let air drying finish it up.

Id also track down where its leaking...most likely at the windshild whippers and the spray nozzles and the bottom of the windshild rubber or holes in the rain channels

I recently found the drivers side channel in front of the cowl was bent allowing the rain water to flow into the engine area instead of out.
I'd also check that.
All the rubber seals would be suspect, where ever they get wet water could find it's way in.

I thought these cars were supposed to leak!!!! They leak real bad if you leave the top at home in the garage.

Putting a bag or 2 of damp rid in your car after rain might also help prevent rust.
I don't know if it has any effect, but I do it anyway. The bag fills with water that is coming from somewhere

Big X2 phil,

I do the same off and on... I think those anti water baggies are collecting humdity..as mine collects the moisture just sitting in a dry shop with lots of gaps to the outside
