I need a distributor for my 62 1098. I bought the car with just a housing its missing the internals plus who knows what else so what is the best one for a stock engine cost and originality is not an issue and the car is now negative ground.I always use MSD in my street and race cars and have had good luck with electronic conversions in other cars but I just dont know about the Midget.
Thanks for any info

Jeff at Advanced Distributors can help you out.

Others have used a petronix unit, i have one (a petronix) in my 74 currently & a stock rebuild from Jeff in my 67... the pros & cons of stock versus petronix will go around & around forever... Jeff does excellent work & points system will almost always get you home, petronix are nice & simple but when it fails, there are no points to clean, so you better have a spare module or be ready for a walk... as jeff has said before if you convert from points to petronix & notice a big difference that means the points dist. was in need of repair, nothing wrong with points with a little maintenance... and away we go again :-)

Jeff certainly can fix your dizzy. Other vendors can offer you a replacement 45D or 25D dizzy. MSD make good boxes but I am not sure about dizzys. The stock Lucas with Pertronix is pretty much the tried and true upgrade for all LBCs. Here's a link to an MSD streetfire at a pretty good price:

Im thinking I should contact Jeff and just do what he says it doesnt really matter to me if its points or electronic its not going to be much of a difference anyway. I have a few extra MSD 6AL boxes and coils but they dont offer a distributor, I can get a Pertronics for about $180.I dont have any idea of the condition of the one I have other than its missing a bunch of parts but I guess I can send it to Jeff and have it rebuilt.
