75 Midget Restoration

Posted by Joshy

I am restoring a 75 MG Midget, I am only 18 and this is the first car that I am restoring. I am pretty good with cars though so I do have some experience. I got the engine running finally. So next step is to get a air filter and the box around the filter. I am having a lot of trouble finding these parts. Any help would be great. Thanks.

Joshy, my friend, what carburetor are you talking about? As Dell would say, I flunked mind reading, just ask my ex-wife! smileys with beer

Try ebay. British car swap meets and local junk yards. If you dont mind aftermarket moss motors and victoria british both sell airfilters that will work with SU carbs.

Contact Matthews Foreign Car Parts in Birmingham. You can find their phone number on the web. They have scores of Midgets, and I am sure they have what you need. Just ask for an air filter box for a 75 or newer Midget.

Sorry about that. It's a zenith Stromberg.

It's a Zenith Stromberg and I need to adjust my idle. It is idling at 2500 rpm. How do I change idle speed? Sorry for all the questions.

I am also having issues finding some of the front end pieces as one of the parts next to the tire is busted. Any ideas? I have looked on victoriabritish. Thanks
