Many 1275s from roughly 1990-2000 or so were fuel injected from the factory using the Rover SPI and MPI systems. Not a bad setup. I"ve seen others using a Megasquirt fabricated setup, too.

Not impossible to accomplish, takes a bit of know-how.

Never seen it on a Midget, but I'm sure they're out there. If you you're thinking about buying the car, ask the seller.

I ask the guy on Ebay how he did it and this is what he sent me

"I used a Megasquirt ECU and a throttle body adapter from I used an SU HIF for the throttle body and a MiniSpares intake manifold on a 1275. So far it seems really great and I love the laptop tuneability. If you've got the skills, I'd say go for it!"

I am going to look at it not sure I would do it but nice to know it can be done.

FI conversions using a plenum (throttle body) style injection is pretty easy and common (relatively speaking)... The port-type injection seems to be buggered by the siamesed intake ports on both the A and B series motors.

The Conversion guys (V-6 & V-8 forums) know more.

Search for any of Scott Abbots post. He has done a lot of these conversions.

I've been thinking about fuel injection for a couple of years now. I'm almost sorry to know that it can be done! I'll stay with the carbs, untill the masses abandon them like the points and rotor for the user freindly and reliable electronic ignitions.;-)

The link above is for Bob Tooke's conversion. He built a port injection system that is more difficult than a throttle body setup. However, even throttle body injection is not for the faint of heart since there are no "kits" for our cars. Everything is "roll yer own".

I think FI is great and I'd love to cobble one together but I have other more serious issues to iron out first! winking smiley

Here is one on a 1500. Megasquirt. I saved one on a efi turbo one but can't find it. Maurice
