I popped up to visit my Magnette at the weekend and the guy restoring it has managed to get the trafficators working, which was very exciting. I have attached a picture. The car also has indicators that are operated by a column stalk so there should be no doubt where I am going!

Very, very cool! Did he modify them to flash, or just light?

That's a beautiful sight! I have to wonder if it would further confuse drivers here in the U.S.! Ed

Very cool! By the way, if any of you have a disused set of trafficators and buckets sitting in your basement, I'd love to take 'em off your hands.

They don't flash but they are linked to the indicators! I have had the Lucas tripod headlights fitted with pilot lights, freeing the sidelights for indicators. In the indicator light I have dual filament lights - so one filament lights when the trafficator is on but it doesn't flash. The other filament flashes when operated by the clumn stalk. They work independently and together - and if you are trafficating and indicating, the light does still appear to flash as it is much brighter when flashing.

In normal use, I will probably just use the indicators alone but the trafficators are there for a bit of curiosity value.

Trafficators can be wired too work with modern indicators with out flashing by using two flashunits one for each side the power pick up for this to be taken from the feed wire to the trafficator so off side indicators to off side flasher off side power to flasher from off side trafficator
