I'm wondering just how rare my 1961, MGA Mk.1 1600, LHD, Coupe really is in North America trim?
I see by the records that only 14 were imported to North America in 1961.
I wonder how many are left at this time?

...I have a 61 also, but never got the id plate or title bought it 25 plus years ago and the guy I bought it from was building a race car so he never bothered to get the title from the seller....so...................it was originally OEW.

Greg,
Very nice coupe indeed.

According to Clausager's book "Original MGA", your car was actually assembled in 1960 some time after April but before January 1, 1961. It was probably titled as a 61 model based on the sale date as was the custom then. The first MGA assembled in 1961 was car no. 99946. Yours is still pretty rare since there were only 826 MGA 1600 Coupes produced in 1960 as LHD for North American export

Jim.

The pictures are the car at the dealer,GR Auto Gallery, where it is at.
I will not be able to pick it up until spring due to the salted roads.

Nice looking car. all coupes are rare.....except for at the race track. I bet I have seen less then a dozen coupes in person at car shows. at the race track they are plentiful and I have seen more coupes being raced then I have seen being driven. I think there were only 10k coupes made and who knows how many are left but I bet it's close to a 75 to 80% attrition rate due to age accidents and being made into race cars.
