Eric, never heard of one but that doesn't mean anything.

I know that in the early 60s they made quite a number of kit cars that favored the MGA but were not an exact copy. Looking through a Car Mechanic of that time shows that kit cars were very popular.

Wray , I noticed over in the trader section that you were looking for a 3 main 1800 engine . I have my 64's ( or 65' or 66' ) original engine , a 3 main but I don't know if it's a 1800 or not , more than likely its a 1500 . Right now its at my dads house . I am not saying I would sell it , more than likely I wouldn't but I will keep you in mind when I start working on mine (soon ) Just guessing I think some extra $$$ will probably come in handy .

There were many body kits made to fit a MGA chassis, but to my knowledge there were no complete kit cars made to resemble the MGA.

There was a quality MGA kit in the late 80's or early 90's that used a Toyota twin cam engine. I saw one at the British car show in Boston during that time. I believe they were somewhere in Massachusetts (Allston maybe) and only a few were made. There were a couple of newspaper and magazine articles on it but I cannot find any of that information now and nothing on the net.

The big Healey's had replicas and I think they still are being made. I've never seen an MGA.

I'm wanting one for my Magnette, the early Bs were 1800s but were 3-main bearing engines. These were essentially just bigger versions of the 1500 and bolt right into a Magnette.

Over a year ago, the MGA kit was brought up. I was looking up information on Elvas and there was the name of the MGA kit manufacturer and then I found another article on that kit on the green BBS.

Smith & Deakin Plastics in UK advertise in Practical Classics that they do Rear guards for 54 pounds, fronts for 69.90 pounds and valances for 22.90 pounds.

In USA you can also try a guy called Andy Rich in New England who was advertising about 9 years ago that his company Composite Autobody (617 547 8115) was manufacturing replica MGAs out of kevlar that either fitted on original chassis or one of his custom chassis. I can E-mail you the article if interested

regards
mark

Right about now, with the brake fluid/paint/rust issues I'm dealing with, a Kevlar body sounds pretty good.

Hey Wray, do you still want a 3 main engine? Let me know. I'd make you a great deal!

Got one. But, maybe we can trade for another. I'm getting ready to part out the 57 ZB, needs parts?

Maybe, I'll get back to you soon. Maybe it's time for me to take a trip down to your neck of the woods again? I sure could use a praline or two from Charleston!!

Did you ever get those free Magnettes in Nevada?

No, I could never get the transport arranged. Gene has probably gotten rid of them by now.

That's a shame. They sounded like good cars.
