While driving over 55 mph I get a strong smell of fuel but if I stop and look around the engine I cannot find any leaks, any ideas?

Float bowl overflow? Check your needle/seats for proper operation and check fuel pressure. No need for dripping on the exhaust manifold! But also check the fuel lines under the car just in case. Best of luck. Basil 707.762.0974 basiladams@yahoo.com

Jimmy,
Check the rubber washers (2 on each carb) on the bolts between the float bowls and the carbs. these can get hard with age and leak, but only when the car is running.
Peter.
