I have a couple of 1600 side curtain frames and was wondering if anyone recovers them.

Bob West in the UK did a very nice job on mine a while back. Todd Clarke sells various refurbishment parts including perspex with correct markings.

There was a thread here on the subject a couple of years ago. Some one had it done in the US I think. I can't seem to find the thread though.
