Embarrassed to ask but ...

The nut on the drivers side rear hub is marked " LH "

To remove the nut I believe I turn in a clockwise rotation.

Is that correct ??

Cheers.

My drivers side says RH..just joking as I know you guys are on the wrong side! Yes Larry, it's a LH thread, and to loosen, turn clockwise.

Left side wing nut should have a directional arrow on it. To loosen, anti-clockwise.

Hi Bob,

The nut I'm referring to is after removing the wheel, brake drum, then half shaft the remaining hub is held onto the axel by a large nut which is marked LH.

Cheers.

Yes, the nut marked LH has 'backwards threads' so clockwise to loosen (after unbending the locking washer).

When re-assembling it needs lots of torque (140+ ft/lbs). There is a special tool to fit that nut. Be sitting down if you glance at the price of that tool...
