Paid by CC so hopefully good to go on it. Just ordered head studs and gasket set less than 2 weeks ago. Now I guess I'll have to wait and see if my card was charged. Thanks Guys. Clyde

I think Proper MG is out of business. I sent an order on May 16, got a confirmation email on May 19, and my cc was billed on May 22. It's July and I have no parts, no communication and a disconnected phone number. I think that it's best not to order from them and spread the word.

Thanks Chris,
My next order will be coming from you.

Just for yucks I went to their site and placed an order using a bogus CC number to see what would happen.

I noticed two things right away:

1) You *can* place the order using a bogus number. In fact, it looks like their ordering engine allows anything to be entered and;

2) Their ordering system does *not* use SSL to maintain security! In other words if you entered your CC# or other information into their system it was not transmitted securely! You can tell by the lack of the "https" on the ordering URL.

Very bad!

The site is built using frames, and if you open the frame that has the credit card entry form in a separate window, it appears to be secure. Here's the url:
https://co01.2rich.com/scripts/jaciis.dll?jac=T3JkZXIgQ2hlY2tvdXQ-&mer=MTQ1MTY2MQ--&url=aHR0cDovL3d3dy5wcm9wZXJtZy5jb20vbnJwMTE0Mi5odG0-

If you didn't do that though, you'd have no way to know that the page is secure. Another reason to hate frames.....

To all who have ordered from Proper MG and not received the parts - call your Credit Card company NOW! Tell them what is going on. They will refund the amount and contact the charging bank - hopefully if enough do this the charging bank will go after whoever Proper MG really is.

Also file a complaint with the BBB.

Clyde - if you call the CC people, they will tell you if the charge has gone through - don't wait for the statement.

I wish I knew the names of Proper MG's owners!

Proper Mg has complaints filed against it from the Mass. Atty. Generals office , the Georgetown Police Dept., there is a mail fraud complaint filed with both the Postal Service and The Federal Trade Commission. I am not sure if the BBB was notified so I will do that now, maybe if enough acencies are told about Robert E. Kawash and his wife Jane B. Kawash they are the listed owners someone will do something.

The Web site is actually secured using an SSL certificate issued by X-Ramp. The padlock icon does not appear because the secure window is captured in a frame.

The Certificate subject is:

CN = co01.2rich.com
OU = Security
O = Rich Media Technologies Inc.
C = US
S = Colorado
L = Englewood

It is issued to:

Corporate Address:
Rich Media Technologies, Inc.
1002 Lynes Avenue
Savannah, GA 31415

The company is clearly a third party supplier of shopping cart technology. But they have inserted themselves into this transaction by representing themselves as the subject in the X.509 certificate.

What you need to find out is the name on the merchant acquirer account for the Proper MG so you can contact US Bank.

If they don't give satisfaction there is stuff we can do with US Bank as the merchant acquirer but it will save time and effort if you know the merchant account.

It is important to contact your credit card company and ask for a refund. Once the refunds exceed a certain threshold the merchant acquirer will yank the accoung.

If I was you clyde, I'd cancel my credit card order right now, I sure wouldn't wait and try to get my money back.

From what's been floated here, this has happened to at least 50 people and none of them are getting their stuff!

But they paid for it!

Don;t wait!
