Thanks to a fellow MGE member I now have the hardware needed to “build” a set of sun visors for my GT. Looking for any information on modern visors that might work with the original mounting hardware. Also looking for the individual who offers plexiglass visor upgrade for MGB’s....thanks

Jack and Gary,

Yes it was pinkyponk that used to offer the sun visors, but I believe that his supply of plexiglass ran out and the only supplier that he could find, would only supply an amount that was far beyond what he felt he could purchase.

This was some considerable time ago, and he may by now have found a supplier that would offer smaller quantities.

Perhaps he will post and clarify the situation, or an email to him might bring an answer.

Just PM Adrian - I bought a pair this time last year BUT IDK if that's before "This was some considerable time ago, and he may by now have found a supplier that would offer smaller quantities. "

Convertible: CKD 11/66 first registered 8/5/67. Owned since 3/77. 90% original sheet metal. 18GB +40 balanced with almost all new internals. Peter Burgess big valve fast road head. Piper 285. Fidanza FW. Basil's followers and pushrods. TR7clutch. TT exhaust. ARP everywhere. 123 ign. Needham 4synchro c/r box.. Stock rebuilt/replaced suspension. Superpro bushes. New brakes all round including all pipes in SS flex. Interior redone. CAMS approved roll bar and side bars. Lots more. Hybrid of o/e and show/fast road car. Not for sale - it's my toy!

GT: UK car built/sold December '78. Stripped back to bare shell (with extensive bodywork to come). Powered by 'worked' Rover 5 litre V8 (ex TVR Chimera) with efi. T5 box. FC IFS. CCE rear attached to Salisbury axle with Quaife. And a whole lot more to yet to come. Stealth is the word.

I made my own with plexi from a glass shop. They also cut out the pattern for me.

Anyone familiar with GT visor mounting ? Is there a clip to secure them on opposite side from the swivel mount ?

Yes, there is a clip, but it's closed, so you have to screw it on with the visor pin in the clip.

M-E only shows stock for >GHD4 158231 - IDK how that's different to before that as no pic. Obviously the retainer clip is not designed for swiveling the visor over the side window which seems really weird; I'll have to check mine (if I can find it) and maybe look for an alternative.
