Hello, Kieth.
Depending on the originality and aging of your paint, you may be able to order a decent match. After hearing very good feedback about paintscratch.com, I ordered a can of Snowberry White for my CGT. Unfortunately, this car has had one complete respray with a very slight grayish or greenish tint to the white. The sample came back, I think accurately, with more of a yellow or beige tint.
They will match to a sample and I have two pieces of fiberboard from the GT spare well that received heavy applications of new color. I'm not sure if the substrate will scan accurately. Otherwise, once I get Mr. Kirk's parts order installed, I will have to drive it somewhere for a scan.
I'LL be interested to hear suggestions and your results.
Good luck,
Rich

You can order/have mixed paint by the original color code. Codes can be found in Moss catalogue and other places. A perfect match is unlikely as the paint on your '80 has surely changed with age. Scanning is the best way for a matching touch up. Drive your B to an auto body supply store for scanning.

I can't speak for all stores, but the O'reilly store in my town scanned my 63 Iris blue to an exact match. I was amazed! I always have an old habit of painting a large metal washer and after drying holding next to the car just to be sure.

I have had a really good match with OE touch up paint at this site that sells OE MGB touch up paint in rattle cans and brush-in-cap bottles.

It's how you react that matters. There's not a pill for maturity.

If your paint is original I've had good luck with TCP Global. They have color library. Select year, then ahmg. The color chart comes up and you order from that. I just got some bedouin beige that is spot on.
