Can anyone tell me (or show me) where the original placement of the dashboard side of the Choke Knob goes on my '79 MGB? I have seen a lot of people replace the Rheo (Dimmer) with the Choke Knob just doesn't look right to me. Jay

Manual chokes were not original to US spec 1979 MGB's, so there is no "original placement" for a choke knob.

I agree that eliminating the dimmer switch isn't optimal, although many owners do it. You can use one of the blank spaces just to the right of the dimmer - the rectangular plugs in the dashboard. Mine is on the lower of these. Drill the appropriate sized hole and insert the cable assembly. You'll need to reinforce the back side with a bit of metal sheet or a washer to keep the assembly from pulling through.
