Absence of valance #1

Restoring a '68 MGB and just removed the front valance. Anyone know if this is stock, or, if not, where it likely started it's valancing act?

I have a 68 GT and the valence looks the same except it does not have the large horizontal holes in the middle. Looks like a fine place for cold air intakes or oil cooler mount.

That is a stock front valance for a '73 to '74-1/2 MGB.

X2 Looks just like the one on my '74 GT except that the dents are in different places.

1974 MGB-GT: black-label overdrive, essentially stock engine but detoxed, Allison XR-700 ignition.
