Adding a Relay to the Turn Signals?

Don't bother, the indicators don't draw enough current to warrant it. Start with the hi current draw items and move down:
Horn, Rad fans, head lights etc. If your concerned about current load then LED bulbs are getting better and draw less than 25% of the load of an incandescent globe. The only issue you will have is the flasher can not getting enough juice but you can correct this with resitors in series with each light.

If you are going to place resistors in series with each LED, why both replacing the lights for low current drsaw LEDs?? The resistor is going to increase the current draw back to where it was with incandescent lights.

LED really need the low current electronic flasher can.

I have a 1977 MGB and the turn signals work when I turn right, but there is nothing when I turn left. I checked the bulbs and they seem to be just fine. any ideas? Are there two flashers on the car? where are they located?

Fitting resistors defeats the efficiency of LEDs which draw little cuurent. The resistors will require alteration to the indicator light circuit which can add to future failures. Just buy a direct replacement electronic flasher, fit LED bulbs and you will have a reliable efficient indicator lights set up.

Does your vehicle have a hazard warning flasher and if so does this work ie all indicator lights flash on and off. If not then the fault may be in the hazard flasher switch, but if they do all flash in hazard mode then your fault will more than likely be in the bullet connectors in the LHS circuitry. Should be a relatively easy fix especially if you have a multi-meter or test light. Download the appropriate electrical diagram from "Auto-Wire" to make your task so much easier. Good luck, Mike

yes, the four-way flashers do work, so I will follow your advice and chase it down. It should not be too much of a problem. The schematic is helpful. Mick
