Dear friends - major internet in-and-outage happening in Miami rite now, I'm here whilst on endless hold w/ ATT. I'll find out tomorrow if Augustin indeed has access to another w'screen assy. and what his intentions are. If it comes down to a Paypal fund I'll sure contribute as well but that may not be nec ...stay tuned.

I'm with the crowd that says that maybe if you visited the shop with the friend and tried to find out why they are denying responsibility it would let you see their perspective. You can tell them that you want to give them a chance to make it right before you complain to the BBB and start letting other car enthusiasts know to avoid their shop. They may be willing to meet you half way and at least pay for the glass. If you can get a new windshield we can help walk you through the replacement process (which isn't nearly as hard as it is made out to be).

If the shop did a bunch of upholstery work then they can afford to give back something. I must confess that I've seen windshields crack just from a gentle tug on the windscreen - so they may feel that it wasn't their fault. But, they should be willing to go at least half way.

Well , I like the seats to start off with, and in a couple weeks will have a good frame , and probably have extra rubber ,if he chooses just to fix it and move on. I dont have glass , but Ill donate what I do have if it helps. Keith

Guido,

But if you also has a friend called "Bubba" then you could become "Intimidation Unlimited"............................chuckles.

1968 MGB Purchased already dis-assembled which is why I'm often ignorant about what some parts are, and even more ignorant of where they go.

To all the kind - hearted folks who want to help Augustin w/ his windscreen situation - please see my update in post #1; he's touched by the offers but wants to put this behind him, he's not holding that shop responsible and wants to correct the problem himself after he rebuilds his driver B's (the maroon one) front end. On behalf of Augustin my heartfelt thanks to you who have reached out!

So what was your reasoning behind getting on here and spewing BS about people that tried to help a guy put a windshield in his car when they didn't want to in the first place without you having all the facts?
People like you are ignorant and dangerous. Once again the low intellect "mob" was getting whipped into a frenzy.

Re his health issues. - When I was 18 I was sidelined with heart issues (Supervetricular tachycardio - sitting still my pulse rate woukd suddenly hit 210bpm, close to ther mark where the heart cannot pump enough blood - or so the Doctors told me. Out of teh 6 months I was supposed to remain stress free, and reasonably qquiet, I made one month then bordem got to me.

I took the attitude that I could be perfectly fit and get hit by a car while crossing the road, and if this was going to get me I tended to have fun first. The following day, I am under the rally car rebuilding it's suspension. 2 months later I was cleared to enter my first rally in a while. The following month I played a 90 minute game of soccer (the coacch was a alittle apprehensive, but then agina he was also my dad). By then end of teh season I was playing 1 and 1/2 games.

Since then I have parachuted (C-130 at 9,000ft), spelunked, rock climbed, and touring car racing. I've recently hit 53, and apart from the odd (maybe once every couple of years)attack, things have been good.

What I am getting at is, "it is sometimes better mediciine to do the things you love, than worry abaout what issues it may cause with a longterm medical condition".

Appears not everyone appreciated the sentiment.

Wow.

Fire off an ad hominem first and follow it with an ad mobinem.

That's a pretty big chunk of moral high ground you're trying to claim.

I don't claim any moral high ground, I just don't swim in the mud around here.
