67 Roadster- Color of door caps? interior is red w/black piping

I am restoring a 67 roadster with exterior and red-black piping interior. The old door caps I have were black. They were off the car, as I acuired a basket case. Anyone know the factory color for the door caps? I have seen a restored car at a show in the same color scheme and it had black door caps. I have enough to recover in red if I wanted, but at this point I want to keep the car as close to factory correct as I can. The dashtop vinyl for the steel dash cars was always black?

Earlier cars had door caps that match seat/doorpanel color scheme. I have seen pictures of that scheme on the 65/66/67 and thought it looked good. I like the extra bit of color there, especially if it matches the tonneau color.

For your 67, the door caps would have been black from the factory. Starting in 1971 the door caps became the same color as the door trim
