Do you routinely carry a spare tire?

I would think having a spare would be important when traveling but what about when just tooling around on the weekend locally? Afterall, less weight equates to more horsepower.

Been discussed many times before. I have a spacesaver in the B. Nothing in the TR8 or the Vette. BTW, ditched the runflats on the Vette. I have a small 12v compressor and plug kit. Thanks for reminding me I need to put it in the Vette.

I have a spare, fix-a-flat, and a 12 volt air pump.

In some countries it is illegal not to have a spare ! or a means of getting out of a flat trouble?

No, I don't even have a spare. Kind of like Russian Roulette, I guess, but I have NEVER had a flat tire on the road in my entire driving career (40+ years). That being said, watching for Murphy to rear his ugly head.

Oh...THAT "spare tire" Unfortunately I carry one of those everywhere I go. Seems I lost it but it came back over the last 6 years. I'm sure The "Fit" man doesn't have one.

This year's Gary's Run was the first time I didn't carry a spare. I realize it's a risk, but the extra space in the trunk sure was nice!

Yes. I shortened the hold-down bolt, inverted the tire and keep bagged jumper cables and tool kit in the rim center under the cover. Just need to remember to check air pressure in the spare once in a while.

I solved the weight problem by putting in an Acme engine. Don't seem to notice the weight of the spare now.

Spare is in the shed unless longer trip. Fix-a-flat and AAA card. I need the trunk room for gear, since I use it for simple video shoots much of the time. Camera bag, tripod, sound kit, lights. No spare.

Full size tire on wheel ready as well as fix-a-flat can.

Weight has nothing to see with horsepower, but will affect maximum speed, acceleration, braking and gas mileage.

Do you really think 25-30 lbs more or less will affect your driving unless you are racing?
