I'm trying to loosen the tie rod jam nut. I hit it with pt blaster and am using large wrench and hitting with hammer. It is not reverse threaded, is it. Any suggestions? Help!

Is it not moving at all? Or just turning and not loosening?

No they are not reverse threaded, you just need some brute force - and heat if you can.

Got it off. Used more pt blaster and Liquid Wrench super penetrant and hit it with a BFH. Now on to removing the tie rod. I am posting these messages in real time using my iPod touch. Mentioning this as this is s good tool to ask questions of all the great folks on MGE while one is actually working on one's car in the garage.

But doesn't the screen get all greasy?

It's an old gen 1 iPod touch with a screen protector. I use it for lisening to music in the garage and now for communicating to MGE. I wipe my hands before I use it of course. Just got the tie rod off using the John Twist method shown on you tube Loosened the tie rod nut the one holding the tie rod end on the bottom. Already loosened the jam nut as mentoned above. I put a Jack under the tie rod to put upward pressure on the tie rod end. Hit the knuckle and the tie rod end until the tie rod end popped free of the taper. No need for tie rod end separating tool.
