Does anyone know of a good car cover? I don't need it in the Winter so waterproof and sun protection is all I'm looking for. That and breathable so condensation does not form. Thanks.

Back in November, I bought this cover for my car. I did a LOT of research and found this company had the best prices, and they were very nice to deal with.

My car is in an open garage and gets afternoon sun and I wanted waterproof. I wanted a cover to protect it from the sun and weather but also not let dust, dirt and pollen through like so many covers do.

I bought this one for one of my other cars and I am very happy with it too.

I keep all the cars covered in the shop. My latest MGA needed a cover and I found a Budge size 1 on Amazon for $34.99 with free shipping. I see they have them now for $26.64! I'm going to buy a spare smiling smiley

Do you find it to be waterproof? Maybe hard to tell under the open garage.
Thanks for the info.

On the site the Robert listed it had Covercraft. You can get a custom cover just for the MGB. I have had three of the Noah line of the Covercraft and have been very happy with the results but it is not waterproof just water resistant. They are sold a various suppliers.

Mike, Do you store your car outside? And if so, how much water gets to the car?
Thanks,
Sue

Bought my last car cover from JC Whitney payed $59 free shipping it has yet to blow off and keeps the car clean and very dry. Best car cover I have bought so far, my B lives outside year round.

MG she gets to stay inside. I have a cover on a sedan I keep outside. It gets damp and the cover will be wet. You would definately want your top up which is what the covers made for is the form with the top up. I have trees in my parking area and small twigs will not dent he car it's great for that. And of course protection from the sun and bird crap.

I think that the covers here are the Mosum Plus products. They say not use it in extreme sun or ice, but that is part of eastern Oregon. I did notice that the TR3A has a fine layer of particulate that may have come from the cover because it has sat out in snow and ice. Car stayed dry though.

Is a carcover the right thing? A car is never 100% clean and it is never 100% calm outside.
I think, with a little dirt on the car and a cover that is moving around it would scratch
the surface of the car, am I wrong?

Depending the quilty of the cover you might get fine scratches. I wax my car about twice a year. No scratches and the paint still looks like new.

I thought the same thing about scratches. I feel like James to keep the car clean and waxed. Not all that hard with a little car.

Today is the day I will do my best to decide. I'm looking at either the Weathershield HP or NOAH. In answer to your question Lori Ann, seems like a good cover is water resistant so moisture can escape. If it is waterproof, condensation can built up and do damage. Makes sense if you think about it. It would be good if someone would respond as to how easy either one of these covers come on and off and ease of storage.

Thanks, Sue and Don,

Question,

So if these covers are not really water proof! what purpose do they really serve.......???

bought one on ebay that was "5-layer waterproof" for about $45 and it is just that. my 2nd and 3rd "garages" are my driveway. i cover my s-type and the mgb , both have remained dry all year round even through hurricane irene. i bought plastic clamps that come in an assortment and clipped the cover onto fenderwells and anything else i could. it never blew off.

Hi Lori Ann,

I went with the Weathershield HP. Aside from keeping out mostly all the rain, the car gets slightly damp til the cover dries and then the car dries underneath. It protects the paint from sun, bird droppings, tree sap, etc. I have been very happy with mine and glad I went the more expensive route. It's light goes on and off in seconds and is very compact when tightly rolled. I ordered from Car Cover USA, nice people.

The above link is to the weathershield cover. I live in central Florida and we get rain all the time. The water beads up and rolls off, easy to put on (front has "front" stenciled in white), and is custom made for the car. And, it stays on through wind and rain.
