Today I ran my fingers down along the bottom of PLT's front tappet cover, and the block below, and found them DRY of oil - the repair last week worked thumbs up smiley Looked at the back sides of both rear brakes & wheels for traces of gear oil - that repair worked as well!! This while resisting taking a Sunday morning drive in the 50 MPH winds and squalls we had.

By 4 PM the sun was out so we went for a 20 mile spin, playing teenage Ninja jet fighter pilot in the Sunday tourist traffic tongue sticking out smiley - upon returning I checked the oil leak repairs again - so far so good ... nice MGB day indeed grinning smiley

This is my second. First Bedouin was ordered while I was in Vietnam in 1970 and shipped to Seattle. Delivered to the dock in November of 1971.Black Vinyl top. This one I literally stumbled onto under a car cover alongside an MG collectors garage had a brand new Tan Robbins cloth top installed. In the works when I can break myself away from driving it everywhere is a repaint (BLVC4 of course) and a swap to a 240 H.P. 3500 High Value GM V6 and T5 .62 OD transmission.
Picture taken almost 40 years ago, a few years out of the Navy and up in the Olympic mountains during a rallye they used to run on the logging roads.Roll bar, no helmet, fast, caution to the wind !
Maybe next year you will make the 32nd annual Northwest Tulip rallye and we can shake hands.

I drove it to work and on my way dropped by for some liquid energy and this giant thing parked next to me.
Really made me feel little. That is until the littly guy inside climbed out.

Oh and one question. How do I get people to stop calling my B a midget?

Take the time to understand what a part does and how it does it, then you'll have a better understanding of how to fix it when it goes wrong. Beats the scattergun approach every time.

Ignition testing made easy.

I replaced my Z-S carb with an HIF and manual choke over the weekend. Started installing a new trunk carpet kit last night. While I have the car on jack-stands, I plan to check all the brakes and give the underside another good once-over. Also need to re-center the new top on the header rail....it's slightly off to the driver's side, causing a "wrinkle" in the back-lights...besides, I know it's not centered and that really bugs me. Obviously, I didn't realize it at the time of installation. Starting to think I need a lift in my shop!

Thanks hookdriver.....I got the pass in fine. I also put dynamat throughout the whole interior before carpeting it. 90% done and finished the trunk. Really good looking now, especially compared to what I pulled out of the barn. Amazing what a good shop vac can do too!

Now to put the new foam seat and webbing on the drivers side seat and ready to cruise......

Not yet, Jon. That's on the to-do list. My knees gave out too soon. I'm enjoying driving it before I put it down for the next project.

About a turnout of about 60.

Unclogged and flushed the heater core, heater valve, heater hoses, and pipe. There was absolutely no flow to the heater core. I made a wish list that includes brake parts, cooling parts, and steering.

Drove it to work 3 days in a row so far!!!!
